Original data ยท updated September 2026
50,429 redesigns, pulled straight from our database on September 28, 2026 - not a survey, not an estimate. Here is which styles people actually choose, how often they write their own prompt instead, and when people sit down to redesign a room.
By Kamil Uhryn, founder of Decoratly. Full methodology at the bottom of this page.
Volume
1,287 redesigns in the first full month on record, climbing to a peak of 13,461 in July 2026. The last bar (September) is a partial month - it only runs through the 28th.
How people design
56.1% of redesigns start from one of Decoratly's catalog styles. Almost as many - 41.5% - come from a custom prompt: either typed directly, or a style the AI designer chat created from a conversation about the room.
Style preference
Decoratly's free plan includes 6 starter styles, and 46.3% of all catalog-style picks are one of those 6 - which mostly reflects what free accounts can see, not preference. So this ranking excludes the 6 free styles (and the rotating "Weekly Special" slot) and shows what people pick when they have the full library:

When people redesign
Redesigns cluster on weekends - Sunday and Saturday are the two busiest days, and Wednesday is the quietest. By hour (UTC), activity is lowest in the early morning and peaks around 8pm UTC, which covers evening in Europe and afternoon on the US East Coast.

Satisfaction signal
Decoratly lets you mark any result as a favorite to find it again later. 4,789 of 50,429 redesigns (9.5%) have been starred - the closest thing we have to a satisfaction rate, since we don't run a review system (see our note on that below).
Methodology
Every figure above comes from a single query against Decoratly's production database on September 28, 2026, using the Firebase Admin SDK - the same access our own admin dashboard uses. We read only four fields per redesign: the style used, the AI model, the timestamp, and whether it was starred a favorite. We never read the photo, the generated image, or any written prompt text, and nothing below is a quote or excerpt from a user.
The dataset covers 50,429 redesigns generated between September 2025 โ September 28, 2026. It includes every account, free and paid; the one internal admin test account is included and is small enough (well under 1% of the total) not to change any figure meaningfully. Countries and individual users are not identified anywhere in this report.
"Custom prompt or AI-created style" combines two flows: typing a description directly (Style Builder), and the AI designer chat proposing a named style from a conversation. Both are recorded the same way and can't be reliably told apart after the fact, so we report them together rather than guess at the split.
This report will be refreshed periodically by re-running the same query. The pull date at the top of this page is the source of truth for how current it is.
Questions
Decoratly's own database: every AI room redesign generated through the app since launch, pulled directly from Firestore on September 28, 2026. It is not a survey or an estimate.
No. The analysis reads only the style used, the date, and whether a result was marked a favorite - never the photo, the written prompt text, or anything that identifies a person. Nothing in this report is a quote from a user.
46.3% of catalog-style picks are one of the 6 styles included on Decoratly's free plan - which is exactly what you'd expect, since every free user sees those 6 first and everyone can pick them. That is a real result of the free plan's design, not evidence of aesthetic preference, so we show a separate ranking of styles chosen from the other 69+ Pro styles.
