How it works

Redesign your living room in three steps

  1. 1

    Take one good photo

Stand in a corner and shoot toward the opposite wall so the seating area, windows and floor all show. Daylight and a tidy floor help. A phone photo is enough.

  2. 2

Pick a style and what may change

Choose from 75+ styles, or describe the look in your own words. Then decide what the AI may change: furniture, layout, wall color or flooring. Your walls, windows and proportions stay as they are, so the result still looks like your room.

  3. 3

    Compare, then refine

You get the redesign in about 30 seconds. Slide between before and after, try another style on the same photo, and use the edit tools (Pro) to change one detail at a time, such as a wall color or a piece of furniture.

What to look at

What matters most in a living room redesign

Anchor the room with the seating

The sofa and chairs decide how the room works. Look at where people sit relative to the focal point, usually a window, fireplace or TV, and whether the seating faces each other for conversation.

Get the rug size right

A rug that is too small makes the room feel disconnected. A common guideline is a rug large enough for at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs to sit on it.

Layer the lighting

A single ceiling light flattens a living room. Combine general light with lamps for reading and accent lighting for depth, and check how the room looks at night, not just by day.

Balance the color

A widely used rule of thumb is roughly 60 percent a dominant color, 30 percent a secondary color and 10 percent an accent. It keeps a bold palette from feeling chaotic.

Leave room to walk

Designers often allow about 30 to 36 inches (75 to 90 cm) for main walkways. If a layout looks great but blocks the path from the door to the sofa, it will not feel good to live in.

Work with a small room, not against it

In a compact living room, lighter colors, furniture on legs, a large mirror and fewer, larger pieces usually read as more spacious than many small ones.

Questions

AI living room design: FAQ

Can AI redesign my actual living room from a photo?

Yes. Decoratly redesigns the room in your own photo in about 30 seconds and keeps your walls, windows, light and proportions. You choose the style and what may change, such as furniture, layout, wall color or flooring.

Is AI living room design free?

You can try 1 design free with no signup and no card, in 6 starter styles. Free results are watermarked at web resolution. Pro is a one-time payment for 30 days with all 75+ styles and the edit tools, and nothing renews.

Will it change my windows or walls?

No. Your walls, windows, light and proportions are kept so the result still looks like your room. You decide whether furniture, layout, wall color or flooring may change.

Is it accurate enough to plan a layout?

It is a visualization, not a floor plan. Use it to compare styles and ideas, then measure your room and furniture before you buy anything.

What photo works best?

A photo taken from a corner in daylight, showing the seating area, the windows and as much floor as possible. Tidy the room first, and avoid extreme close-ups.
